Bird Flu

A number of members have asked what to do if they come across dead birds. The first thing to remember is that birds are mortal and dead birds are a normal part
of the natural environment.
However, the spread of bird flu undoubtedly brings a new perspective so I took advice from Andrew Hodges of Three Valleys water If you think you have come
across unusual deaths of wild birds, a rule of thumb is:
1 or more swans
3 or more birds of the same species
5 or more birds of different species
Contact the DEFRA helpline 08459 33 55 77
or the local state veterinary service office 01737 24242
If the dead bird is at Stocker's Lake also leave a message for:

Whatever you do, do not touch the dead bird.
